All-On-4® and All-On-6

Full mouth implant bridges

Full Mouth Implant Bridge

A Full Mouth Implant Bridge is a permanent fixture similar to a denture that is ‘bolted’ to the jawbone with 4 or 6 dental implants.

An All-On-4®or All-on-6 Implant Bridge will replace all the teeth in a jaw.

The All-On-4® Concept

The concept of a full mouth implant bridge was pioneered by Nobel Biocare in the 1990’s. They were the first to advocated that an entire jaw could be reconstructed using only 4 dental implants. And Nobel Biocare trademarked the name All-On-4® in 2010.

But the term “All-On-4®” is now often used to describe any full mouth implant bridge.

There are now many variations of the original All-On-4® concept. One of which is an All-on-6 full mouth implant bridge.

All-On-6 Full Mouth Implant Bridge

An All-on-6 full mouth implant bridge is very similar to an All-On-4® implant bridge except it is secured using 6, instead of 4 dental implants.

“Jaw in a day” & “Instant Implant Smiles”

In certain cases, an entire jaw can be restored in a single day using 4 or 6 dental implants. Dentists around the world have come up with all sorts of nicknames for this procedure such as ‘Jaw in Day’ or ‘Instant Implants Smiles’.

At Adelaide Tooth Removals we call this procedure an ‘Immediate Full Mouth Implant Bridge”.

When is an All-on-4 or All-on-6 Implant Bridge appropriate?

When the majority (or all) of the teeth in a jaw are missing or failing, an All-On-4®or All-on-6 implant bridge should be considered.
